atmospheric CO2.

The oceanic biota affects the CO2 concentration change in the
environment through negative feedbacks, absorbing carbon from the
atmosphere. Biological production of the dissolved organic carbon in the
ocean has increased about 20 times during the industrial era and now
accounts for about 5% of the net primary production of the ocean. All
results were obtained using available data on prebomb and postbomb
14C distribution in organic and inorganic dissolved carbon
in the ocean.
